Franchising is the way for Work - Life Balance?

Franchising is the way for Work - Life Balance?

The term ‘work–life balance’ may be a new one, but the concept is not – think of the old saying ‘all work and no play’. It refers to the need in all of us to have a balance in our lives; we perform better when we have some element of work as well as some element of leisure.

We all strive for work-life balance. A recent survey also captures that more than 50% of people applying for new jobs look for companies which provide the work-life balance and not just the pay rise. (The sample size consisted of more than 1000 millennials voting for it, Source).

Franchise business models in general afford a high level of freedom and flexibility, because in many ways it provides a ready-made template for launching and running a business. There are set processes in place which means that you don’t have to re-invent the wheel or learn as you go, because much of this will already be a part of your franchise support package.

However there is no ‘one way’ to own a franchise, and franchisees can generally be categorised into the following ownership models:

  1. The Owner-Operator Model
  2. Investor Franchisees
  3. Multi-site Owners

By allowing the above models, you get to choose the level on involvement which you would prefer for self. When people approach us with an intention of opening a franchise, the 1st question we always ask them is the objective. What is that you would want to achieve by opening a franchise? Would it be just the Money or Ownership or Freedom or Entrepreneurship. It is essential to set your objectives which would you help you invest in the right model, you could always choose the front runners gaining more time for self or be involved completely in day to day operations.
